Privacy Policy

PolishMyShop is a small service. We collect the minimum information needed to do the job and nothing more. This page tells you exactly what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

When you order a shop polish, you give us two things:

  • Your email address, so we can deliver your finished PDF.
  • Your Etsy shop URL (or a listing URL from your shop), so we know which shop to read.

Using that shop URL, we read your public listing data through the Etsy Open API. That includes titles, tags, descriptions, photos, and product category. This is all public information — the same data anyone browsing Etsy can see.

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or touch your card number or any payment details.

What we do not collect

  • We do not ask for your Etsy login or password.
  • We do not access your Etsy orders, payouts, customer data, or checkout flow.
  • We do not install anything on your Etsy account.
  • We do not run cookies, ad pixels, or tracking scripts.

How we use your information

Your email and shop URL are used for one purpose: reading your active listings through Etsy's API and sending you the finished polish as a PDF. That's it.

Your email is also kept long enough to process a refund request if you ask for one. We do not send newsletters, marketing emails, or anything beyond your delivery and any direct replies to your support messages.

Third parties we use

Running PolishMyShop requires a small number of external services. Here is who they are and what they see:

  • Etsy Open API — we send your shop URL to Etsy's API to fetch your public listing data. Etsy's own terms and privacy policy govern their handling of that request.
  • Stripe — handles payment. Stripe receives your payment details directly. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded.
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — we send your listing text (titles, tags, descriptions) to Anthropic's API so the AI can generate rewritten copy. Your listing text is processed by Anthropic under their API terms. We do not send your email address or any personally identifying information to Anthropic.
  • SendGrid — delivers your PDF to your email address. SendGrid sees your email address in order to route the message.
Your listing text is sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the rewrites. This is necessary for the service to work. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not order a polish.

How long we keep your data

  • Listing data — fetched fresh each time a shop is polished and not retained after the PDF is delivered.
  • Email address — kept only as long as needed for delivery and to handle any refund or support request. We do not maintain a mailing list.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes, ever.
